Emily Cherry Oliver

Welcome to my site! I am a director, teacher and actor. I am currently Professor of Theatre at the University of North Dakota and head the BFA in Musical Theatre and the Directing program. I also serve at Co-Vice Chair for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Region 5.  I received my BFA in Musical Theatre from Texas Wesleyan University and my MFA in Directing from Western Illinois University where my thesis was the direction and choreography of Urinetown: the Musical. I have directed and performed in academia and professionally and I am a passionate teacher who believes in the power of the theatre to make a difference in our world.
